Eleven

“Are you trying to give me a heart attack?” says my 14 year old daughter when she enters my bedroom as I’m adding my snowflake earrings to my LOUD running Holiday ensemble this morning… full side-eye with added roll.

Little does she know I might just wear this to some momentous occasion in her future. (Side note: I was going to say “wedding” but truly I no longer believe this to be a day we give attention to girls as something they see as some pinnacle in their life. Further explanation of this philosophy for another time.)

It’s Monday and I am a big big fan of starting new days, new weeks, new months, new years, and new decades with renewed energy of enthusiasm.

Eleven… that’s how many honks and waves I received from neighbors in cars as I ran my one road mile before hitting the sand for my appreciation offering to the Pacific.

Eleven opportunities to connect with others in smiles and hellos.

Each one gave me a giddy up in my step knowing my obnoxious flair spread some love.

My morning…

I told several humans I hold close to my heart what they mean to me,

I drank a huge glass of water,

I ran my a favorite running route from my house,

I attempted some balancing yoga poses (#faceplant),

I made my Littles my classic Superfood smoothie,

I wrote in my “book of positive aspects” and

I drove my daughter to school sipping peppermint tea from my large Christmas mug all while listening to Holiday music.

December…. game on!
